Fantabiathlon

The Fantabiathlon is Biathlon Azzurro's free game: before races you answer a few polls and collect points. To play you need an account with email, password and nickname.

  • The nickname is public: it appears in the standings and among the best players of each race. If you prefer to stay anonymous, choose one that is not your name.
  • The email is never shown and we only use it to log you in and to send you the link when you ask for a new password. No newsletters or advertising.
  • Each player's answers stay private: after the race we only show the overall percentage for each answer.
  • Game alerts are also posted on the Fantabiathlon Telegram and WhatsApp channels: the rules of those platforms apply there, as independent controllers. The site does not share any player data with them.
  • To delete your account, together with your votes and points, write to info@biathlonazzurro.it from the address you signed up with.

Sports data of athletes

Results, standings and statistics come from official, public sources: the Datacenter of the IBU (International Biathlon Union) for international races, and the standings published by the Italian Winter Sports Federation (FISI) and by the organisers for national races, such as the Italian Cup (Coppa Italia). We only publish sports data: first and last name, nation or sports club, category, age or date of birth (for IBU races only) and result.

  • We do not publish photos, biographies, contact details, place of residence or other personal data taken from the IBU platforms or from the federations.
  • For national races (Italian Cup, Italian Championships), including those of underage athletes, we only report name, club and result, as in the official standings: no date of birth, personal profiles or images.
  • If you are an athlete (or a parent) and want to correct a piece of data or request the removal or anonymisation of a result, write to us at info@biathlonazzurro.it: we will consider the request carefully, taking into account the public interest in sports information and the person's age.

The site is not the official source of results: for verification, the standings published by the organiser or the federation prevail.

Cookies and content from other websites

The site only uses technical cookies. Videos, podcasts and social posts (YouTube, Spotify, X, Instagram, Facebook, Twitch) are loaded only if you choose to: in that case the platforms act as independent controllers under their own privacy policies. All the details, and how to change your choice, are in the cookie policy.

The site contains links to our social media profiles and to websites of other parties (federations, athletes, news outlets): once you leave the site, the rules of whoever runs that website apply.

Who can see your data

The data is not sold or passed on to third parties for advertising. It can be accessed by authorised members of the editorial team (for example whoever reads the contact form messages) and by the technical providers below, who process it on our behalf as data processors, under contracts that limit its use.

We may also disclose data to public authorities when required by law.

Transfers outside the European Union

Some providers are US companies. Transfers to the United States take place on the basis of the European Commission's adequacy decision (EU-US Data Privacy Framework) for the companies that participate in it, or of the standard contractual clauses approved by the Commission. The database data stays in Ireland; the site's page files may be served from any point of the Cloudflare network to make them faster.

How we protect the data

  • encrypted connection (HTTPS) across the whole site;
  • private area with personal logins, two separate roles and only for people who work with the editorial team;
  • Fantabiathlon accounts kept separate from the editorial team's, with limited login attempts;
  • the database blocks public access to personal data (messages, accounts): only the site's server and the authorised editorial team can access it;
  • automatic database backups, kept for 30 days: deleted data may therefore remain in the backups for at most this period.

Your rights

At any time you can:

  • know whether we process data concerning you and receive a copy (access);
  • have it corrected if it is inaccurate, or completed (rectification);
  • have it erased, where provided for by law (right to be forgotten);
  • restrict the processing or object to it, in particular when it is based on our legitimate interest;
  • receive the data you have provided to us in a readable format (portability);
  • withdraw the consent you have given at any time, without affecting what happened before.

To exercise them, write to info@biathlonazzurro.it: we will reply within one month (which may be extended in complex cases, in which case we will let you know). If you believe the processing breaches the law, you can lodge a complaint with the Italian data protection authority, the Garante per la protezione dei dati personali, or with the authority of the EU country where you live or work.

Minors

The site is not aimed at children under 14: the contact form should only be used by people aged at least 14 or by a parent, and only people aged at least 14 can sign up for the Fantabiathlon. If we believe we have received data from a minor without the consent of the person responsible for them, we delete it.

Changes

We update this page when the processing changes (for example new services or sponsors) and show the date below. Previous versions are no longer available.

This is a translation: the Italian version prevails.
