How relays are counted
When grouping by athlete, every relay runner receives the team's result, as in the IBU statistics by athlete; by nation, venue and season a relay counts only once. You can choose with “Relays”. Qualification heats do not count.
Data limits
Before about 1990 the IBU archive is incomplete: World Cup races of 1977–1991 that the IBU lacks (or has without results) are rebuilt from other sources and often list only the top 10 or the podium (wins and podiums are complete, averages and percentages for those years are not); a few relays are still missing. Historical athletes without an IBU code have a provisional one; the Olympics from 1960 to 1980, missing from the IBU archive, are also rebuilt from other sources. Course, range and shooting times exist from the early 2000s. Historical nations (USSR, East and West Germany…) are kept separate, unless you choose “Merge historical nations”.
Updates
The archive is updated after the races. Compared with the official IBU statistics, the counts match for 95% of the athletes and for all individual wins; the known differences concern the missing Olympics and a few results corrected later.
